Stern comparison - Here is Wahoo's stern arrangement prior to launching at Mare Island. The rudder and stern planes, four bladed props, and hull contours all match perfectly with the wreck. In the opinion of Legends of the Deep, it can be no other. Having assessed the available evidence, the United States Navy certified the wreck as USS Wahoo (SS-238) on October 31, 2006.
